Think Blue Massachusetts Rebranding
Objective: The objective of the Think Blue Massachusetts statewide educational campaign was to raise awareness about the importance of clean waterways and encourage responsible behaviors to protect and preserve water resources throughout the state. The campaign aimed to inform the public about the impact of pollution on water quality, ecosystems, and human health while promoting sustainable practices and individual actions that contribute to healthier waterways. Solution: To achieve the campaign's objectives, a comprehensive approach was developed that included designing and developing various collateral materials. As the lead designer, I took charge of cleaning up the existing Think Blue Massachusetts logo to give it a refreshed and modern look that aligned with the campaign's message. The first step in the design process was to create a brand book that established the campaign's visual identity, including color palettes, typography guidelines, and usage rules for the logo and other visual elements. The brand book ensured consistency across all materials, reinforcing the campaign's message and creating a strong and recognizable identity. The campaign's visibility was maximized by designing a captivating billboard that featured the updated logo, along with a powerful and concise message that grabbed the attention of passing commuters. The billboard strategically placed in high-traffic areas near water bodies aimed to create a lasting impression and spark curiosity about the campaign. Newspaper ads were designed to further engage the public and promote the campaign's key messages. The ads were placed in various local and regional newspapers to reach a diverse audience and drive awareness of waterway issues. To leverage the power of digital media, a short, impactful Public Service Announcement (PSA) video was edited, highlighting the urgency of the waterway conservation message. The video was designed to be easily shareable on social media platforms, increasing the potential for virality and broadening the campaign's reach. To simplify complex information and make it accessible to a wider audience, visually appealing infographics designed to convey essential facts and data about water pollution, its consequences, and actionable tips to make a positive impact. The Think Blue Massachusetts statewide educational campaign successfully raised awareness about the importance of healthy waterways and generated widespread support for water conservation efforts. The collateral I designed and developed played a pivotal role in establishing a unified and compelling visual identity for the campaign, effectively conveying its messages to diverse audiences.
